ilabcurious, I know what finals are. But in my school, we have finals at the end of the school year (June for most, May for seniors). Not in my middle of the school year.

Depends on whether you have semester classes or year-long ones. I have an English final paper for my elective, but it’s only ten pages, so not that bad.

I have semester finals…but the classes are year long…ugh so two finals per class…hehe…sorry suburbia I realized I was being rude there…wasn’t trying to be:-)

when in the course of human events it becomes neccesary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them to one another, and to assume among the powers of the earth the seperate and equal stations to which the laws of nature and of natures GOD requires that they should state the causes which impel them to that seperation.
I had to memorize that for APUSH in 1 class hr. thank you thank you very much

I think you need a coma before “GOD”. Welcome to the cc fora

Oh, if you want compete about who has to memorize the most in quantity and the most in obscurity I think you will easily lose. Either that, or the educational system you suffer from is more close-minded that the one I -inevitably and for, I hope, a short term- belong to…

yeah I have one wierd History teacher who is old as dust but she’s preety good. She’s also a college teacher and very demanding, she comes to our school for 3 periods and leave. We have to study every night. we will always have pop quizes everyday and have to read very closely. Most of the stuff we are tested over comes from outside reading she expects us to read, without knowing it, it’s pretty easy to slip her class in grades. So stressful. Honestly, why did I take it!! Why!! Oh that prologue to the declaration of ind. was bonus points. she has us memorize more than that for actual class work, and hey It’s a public school. She says it’s good for our brain cells, total neg. Besides many other students across the U.S have it worse than me.

oh yeah? i have a teacher who…sucks. haha. actually this year, all me teachers are awesome. but it had to take 4 years to reach that point.

my teachers make me want to major in Education

“my teachers make me want to major in Education”

I get the complete opposite effect from my teachers. With a few exceptions, my teachers have been boring and overly impressed with themselves. I feel sorry for all the other students who will be herded through the crummy public education system after I’ve graduated, but I don’t feel sorry enough to spend my adult like working with idiot teachers.

Besides, I think I would go crazy teaching the same material semester after semester…

you didn’t get my point

my teachers make me want to major in Education because i think they’re a bunch of idiots and i feel an urge to do something about it

I have memorize the Calvin Cycle for tomorrows Bio exam :(

Yuck…hated those AP bio stuff…and a yr later, I don’t remember a thing.

I think I only have to know the materials used by the Calvin Cycle and the products formed from it, not the actual series of reactions. That’s because my class is AP and/or IB Bio, and my teacher’s like, “For my class, you only have to know (this), but if you’re taking the AP exam, you have to self-study (like 6 extra chapters) and know (this) in detail.” Unfortunately, I’m taking the AP exam, so I’ll have to know things like the Calvin Cycle at some point, just not now.

My teacher is so dumb; there are at least a few people in my class who could teach the class better than he/she could. That said, it makes the class really easy, so I haven’t even started studying for the midterm on wednesday.

bio is the worst science
=). physics rocks! so does computer science!

I looooove my physics class. And I actually liked Bio. But Chem, now, that was the absolute worst science class I’ve ever taken. The only good days were when my teacher lit things on fire - he was a complete pyro. One time his desk caught on fire from underneath from a chemical reaction he sort of “bounced” across the room and no one noticed for fifteen minutes… we were all entranced by the mop that was on fire instead (well, with the kid sort of waltzing with it while half-heartedly trying to put it out).

Anyone else have any good science class stories?
