You need to realize that there is no “pre-med” or “pre-pharm” major, first of all. Anyone studying anything can apply to med school, pharm school, or law school. For med (don’t know about pharm) there are certain extra requirements such as medical community service (EMT, volunteer at a hospital) that you must do on your own. Also, a lot of students will take physics, organic chem, and bio to help study for the topics that appear on the MCAT, but obviously anyone can take those classes (for example, a history major).

Like CharlieSchm said, go somewhere you like and can avoid debt. Med school is EXPENSIVE (~$50k a year, or more) and lengthy. If you can go to a good school, get good grades, and do well, that is much more important than the rank or name recognition of the school.
