Correct, but note the “affiliated colleges” segment of UC. The San Fran complex was part of those “affiliated colleges.”

Correct, but note the “affiliated colleges” segment of UC. The San Fran complex was part of those “affiliated colleges.”

^ Blue, straight from UCSF history website: “The three Affiliated Colleges — also called UC departments”…

I don’t know the source of your info…wikipedia? Haha!

UC had enough control to add a dental college.

When i graduate, should i change my username to UCBPhilGrad, you know, since i’m basically a Berkeley student :p

^ everyone has dreams I guess… :)

Like I said, we’ll have to agree to disagree. My reading of the UCSF website leads me to a different conclusion.

But don’t forget, in ~1900 UC had the opportunity to officially merge Cal and the SF medical complex and get paid by the Rockefeller Foundation, but chose not to. (source: UCSF website)

^ Not officially merge, blue. They were required to relocate the campus to Berkeley. I guess UC Regents didn’t think the donation was big enough to warrant money being spent to relocate the medical school to Berkeley.

UC still had control of the medical campuses. Why would it have built an “identity as Cal’s medical center” (source: UCSF website) if it didn’t?

And what about UC Hastings?

And it was first to 100 NCAA championships*. What’s not to like?

*separately run

shrugs Not governed by Regents?

I wonder how UCLA has done billion times better than UCB in athletics.

Better athletic department culture for most of the 60s-00s.

There’s also the accelerated med program at Penn State where the undergrad degree is awarded by PSU and the med degree by Jefferson.
