Ranking?

oh 1 more question. Where exactly does Northwestern econ rank in US? Like comparing with schools like Uchicago Columbia Dartmouth etc? Coz most of the rankings that I encounter is about undergraduate business and stuff but not a lot on econ major. And what are the career prespective of NU graduate like? I will really appreciate any help on my questions. Thanks

7th in U.S News
above Penn, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, etc.

Also 9th in Nat’l Research Center Rankings
(http://www.stat.tamu.edu/~jnewton/nrc_rankings/area36.html</a>)

Again, NU is ranked higher than Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Brown, Caltech and Dartmouth, which seems not to have made it on the list.
I’ve been told recruitment of NU econ major is almost guaranteed; there are a number of threads concerning recruitment for econ majors so do a search and you’ll be able to find some stats and links that will help you understand.
But IMO, if you intend to major undergrad business, you should realize that econ does not necessarily correlate directly to business. Sure, a lot of people choose econ for their major with the idea of it being like pre-business major, but it certainly isn’t designed to be a prep major for business exclusively.
