<p>My guess:
Georgia Tech is primarily only strong in technology (business decent locally). Thus when you have rankings with worldwide data for all majors, GT doesn’t score well because GT is more renowned domestically in US, and only in technology/engineering. Harder for GT to penetrate the world for reputation.</p>
<p>Other schools with strong academics in various fields are more reputable in minds of people in different career fields and would rank higher than GT for career prospects. For GT, you should focus on technology/engineering employment rankings.</p>
<p>Definitely choose between GT, Illinois, and UT Austin.</p>
