I-banking is about relationships. Without relationships, I-banks flounder.

When BB I-banks recruit a kid from Harvard, they typically don’t care what he studied at all. They want to see he is willing to work hard, socially normal, and most importantly, well-connected. Being a Harvard alum opens doors, which facilitates business/political relationships, which an ibank cannot do without.

Coming from Emory, it assumed you won’t be well-connected. So long story short, Emory is nowhere-ville.
