When BB I-banks recruit a kid from Harvard, they typically don’t care what he studied at all. They want to see he is willing to work hard, socially normal, and most importantly, well-connected. Being a Harvard alum opens doors, which facilitates business/political relationships, which an ibank cannot do without.</p>

<p>Coming from Emory, it assumed you won’t be well-connected. So long story short, Emory is nowhere-ville.

<p>This is a black-and-white fallacy. Yes, Harvard/Yale/Princeton give you very strong connections, Emory still does give you good connections in the same way that decent schools like Brown and Cornell give you good connections. </p>

<p>Emory may not be your best choice (it’s not as strong as Duke), but it is better than say Georgia Tech or UGA.</p>
