My daughter maxed out her verbal SAT and got out of W131 as well, but we have been told the medical school review adcoms kinda want to see an advanced writing class of some kind if the applicant did not take W131. Supposedly there’s W231 or any type of technical / scientific writing.
She also qualified for Honors Calc I (S211) based on the online placement test but asked the difference between S211 and M211 and was told S211 is more proofs, which I would think aren’t critical for premeds.
Many decades ago my wife took W131 and it was not easy. But we’re not native speakers so… I have heard W131 is a lot of work, and if you’re taking Chem 117 and Calc, that’s like 11 credit hours 
so…
