Definitely a great preparation for STEM. I’d add physics to your course load if I were you. My only regret in high school was not challenging myself, and I’d sell out my gpa for that challenge if I had the chance to go back.

9:
Bio, English, Spanish II AC, Gym, Geometry, World Hist, Money Mgmt I
10:
Earth Sci, English, Spanish III AC, Health, Algebra II, USH, Computer Apps
11:
Precalc, Chem, American Lit, Spanish IV AC, AP USGov, Money Mgmt II, Computer Apps II
12:
Physics, Philosophy, Current History, Web Page Design, Photography, AP Calc AB, Econ

6/10 if your school offers (most of) Bio, Chem, Physics, USH, Lang, Lit, and Spanish as AP courses. 8.5/10 if your school doesn’t offer these classes as APs.

I’m a current sophomore.

Junior year:
AP Chem

10/10. Calc 3 as a junior??? Oof.

So like I’m probably not going to my current HS next year but in this theoretical I am (still need to plan on if I stay) so… next 2 years? I’m a sophomore as well.

10/10. Rigorous schedule

I’m a sophomore as well.

Junior year:
Honors chemistry
Honors pre calculus

French 3
Comparative anatomy and physiology
Photography ( required art credit)
Psychology

Senior year:
Economics
Current events
AP chemistry
AP physics 1
AP lit
AP calculus AB
French 4
other electives

I would say that your junior schedule is 7.5/10 and senior schedule is 9.5/10. For junior year, your schedule would be much harder if you took APs for STEM subjects, but also it’s hard to take 2 science courses at once. Senior year seems really rigorous with 4 APs and a language. AP chem and physics at the same time is super hard.

I am a junior:
AP Chem
AP Lang
AP US History
Honors Precalc
Spanish 3
Track
Cross Country
Yearbook
Painting and Drawing

Senior:
AP Bio and/or Anatomy
AP Lit
AP Gov

Classes I wouldn’t be taking
AP Physics C (rationale: irrelevant, I’m going into a non-STEM field, also double period so I would have to drop something)
AP Calc BC (rationale: would take this just to be done with the college credits but it seems like a lot of work with a lot of ECs?, also double period so I would have to drop something)
AP Lit (rationale: not sure how intensive this is, again a lot of my time will be taken up by ECs and not sure how colleges value it)

please let me know!

I honestly need serious advice Apush, lang, and Spanish are the only Ap’s offered for juniors, I’m better at English than history, and Spanish I’m fluent in Spanish. I don’t know if I should take APUSH or not, I really don’t wanna stress myself out, but like I’m low-key down to take it. Any Advice?

@Frootloop35 9/10. This is an incredibly good schedule. It would be a 10/10 if you took Pre-Calc Honors, APUSH, or both. Good luck in your courses!

In terms of advice on APUSH, I am going to copy-paste a past answer on the class, if that is okay with you. APUSH is a nice class. If you have taken AP World or AP Euro in tenth grade, you will be at an advantage, but it’s completely okay if you didn’t. The class spans from the late 1400s to the present, and you will be analyzing history of the U.S. and how that ties into the current world. If you haven’t taken an AP History before, the first tests and quizzes are going to be very challenging because the question style is very different from Honors and regular social studies courses. They seem like Reading questions in their own right. The questions will more often than not, give you a picture, diagram, or passage, and ask questions about the text. If you’d like to see some example questions, they have a practice AP Exam for APUSH up, and you will be able to see what I am talking about. If you are going to be a humanities major, I think this class is pretty essential. If you’re interested in history but not interested in majoring in the humanities, you should still take it as there’s a lot of benefits of the course. However, if you are interested in a STEM major, it’s okay to not take the course if it seems too overwhelming. Honors or Regular are completely okay. I will let you know ahead of time that the difficulty of APUSH can vary heavily based on the teacher. For example, one of the APUSH teachers at my school does not give any HW or textbook readings, no pop quizzes, and makes his tests based off pure memorization. The other makes all the quizzes a pop quizzes, gives about half a chapter of textbook reading most classes for HW, and models her multiple choice tests off of the style of the AP exam. It may be best to check with the people in your school to see how the course is conducted.

For Pre-Calc, if you got an B+ or above in Algebra 2 Honors, you have a really good chance of doing well in Pre-Calc Honors. I honestly feel like Algebra 2 Honors was harder than Pre-Calc Honors, although neither class is easy. If you got an A in regular Algebra 2, I also think you would have a good chance of succeeding in Honors Pre-Calc. The choice is yours, though. I think Honors would be beneficial for you if you are interested in a STEM major, and otherwise, it shouldn’t really matter too much.

Have a nice day.

For my schedule, I am a rising senior.

AP English Literature
AP US and Comparative Government
AP Calculus AB
Astronomy
AP Spanish Language
Creative Writing
AP European History or AP Art History (I still have to decide, and apparently, student enrollment in both are pretty low, and there is a chance neither will happen.)

Have a nice day.

@excoverer : 9.5. Five APs is plenty rigorous, but it will get you ready for what college is like.

How about this for a rising junior:

AP Lang
APUSH
AP Calc AB
Physics DE
Latin V (Honors)
Art III
Economics & Personal Finance (required for graduation in our school district)

Senior year is looking like this:

AP Lit
AP US & Comparative gov’t
AP Latin or AP Studio Art
AP Calc BC or AP Statistics
AP Bio or AP Chem

That’s it, five classes with potential for early release (maybe work after school?)
