RD 2013 Anxiety Thread

CONGRATS TO BRYN MAWR! Hopefully, we can all get into Barnard!!!

and meet up and have lunch and watch broadway shows and much more!

Congrats! Except now I’m flipping because I REALLY want to find out.

…How quickly can mail get to Florida?

It depends a lot on the time. Like, if they were sent before one PM, they’re in the first batch and are on their way. Something like that. And I’m not sure about express/priority/etc.

okay I hope that everyone here will receive a big white cardboard envelope that says PRIORITY MAIL UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE with a 5 dollar stamp on the corner :)

Holy crap.

I’m so freaking nervous now… gah!!! I live in NJ so that means if I’m a “definite acceptance” I’ll get it tomorrow or Saturday!

I may or may not have cried multiple times at this point. I don’t know what’s gotten into me…it’s just that Barnard is really the only school I want to go to and I don’t want to pick another school.

Express mail usually takes two days to get here…I have plans with my best friends to go to the beach tomorrow and now I want to stay home and wait for the mail…but then when I don’t get a letter, I’ll cry because it’ll just confirm my theory that I was rejected. I cannot deal. At all.

How many batches are there?

Congrats to those who have gotten in :)

mp, enjoy your day at the beach. Stressing over it just makes it worse. If you can forget your anxiety for a bit, it’s your best bet. Also, you’re such a fantastic applicant and you have so much love for Barnard that if you don’t get accepted, I’ll seriously lose faith in the process. You rock.

NOOO that’s not true. acceptances can come on april 1st too…

honestly, I think definite answers come out starting next monday. This is just what I think, and decisions on april 1st can be acceptances too, but just probably not as much.

but it doesn’t matter cause as soon as u see that big envelope on april 1st, u’ll knowu got in.

So I just heard from admissions that they currently have only 10 Maine students. Think they could use another…? fingers crossed!

Ugh. Ugh! This is so scary! Does the envelope come with the regular mail or seperatly?

Congrats for getting in! Wow!

!!! Really freaking out now. This has been such a high stress day. Week. Month. Year.

This is how badly I need Barnard: I am having a conversation on Skype and one on AIM regarding how nervous I am. Neither are helping to calm me down even a little bit.

Good luck i wish you all well!

what were everyone’s scores who got accepted?

Got into Barnard today and wow their financial aid package is awesome!

Good luck to those still waiting :)

I got into Bryn!!! That’s 4 acceptances so far, eeeeek! Congrats to everyone else who got in, and uber congrats to the first Barnard acceptances! Barnard’s one of my reach schools and I’m hearing from my first reach, Wesleyan, tomorrow, so that should be an indicator of my chances. :\ But, best of luck to alll!

inasummetown, I was accepted ED, but my letter came with the regular mail. It was a big, cardboard envelope with US Priority mail on it. It’s pretty obvious that it’s an acceptance letter…

Congrats to everyone who’s already in and good luck to everyone who has yet to find out!

mp, aww. Deep breaths. It’s going to be okay :)

cowsfly, congrats!

squaregirl, yaaay! Good job.

People who were accepted: was there anything about a new login to RSVP for events? If there wasn’t one, I figure we can all find out by tomorrow night…

OH MY GOD THIS IS THE LONGEST WEEK IN HISTORY. I WANT A TIME-TURNER.

A HUGE congratulations to all those who have gotten in so far, I am so excited for you all and cannot wait to hear back, my brain is absolutely on fire. I live just about as far away from Barnard as it is possible to live in the US (okay, not true, Hawaii takes the gold there), but I really really just need to know NOW. I think I’ll die if it doesn’t come tomorrow - I’m not going to be home on Saturday!!! AHHHHH!!!

@foreverpetals - that’s so weird! We must be awesome separated-at-birth twins or something (not that jobs have anything to do with genetics, but let’s pretend cause pretending is fun!). :P

Well there’s an overnight stay/open house coming up on the 19th and you can RSVP starting tomorrow.
