RD 2013 Anxiety Thread

Thank you bubbles  I absolutely canNOT wait.

The only thing is… fin aid… I have to get a decent fin aid package to be able to afford to go…

oh my! congrats!!! Tufts is amazing.

Thank you canto :)

Congrats Neethus1! I was accepted to Barnard but Waitlisted at Tufts. Living proof that college admissions can be a crapshoot… good luck!

Can anyone else comment on their Financial Aid package??.. I talked to the Barnard FA office on the phone today and the lady wouldn’t budge when I basically begged her to reconsider my package.

Yeah, mine is a bit tough too. (Well, compared to what Wellesley and Bryn gave me, anyway.) I don’t know what to say though, since financial aid differs for every case. They gave me $34,042 in grant money.

neethus! I am so happy for you!!! That is amazing! See, things worked out! :)

I’ve fallen in love with Bryn Mawr. If I am able to get more financial aid and go there I know I will be very, very happy. Things are going to be okay for all of us. They WILL work out for everyone.

Thanks for everyone and how supportive and terrific you’ve been all throughout this process. Let’s still go to lunch in NYC someday though. Kay?

p.s. etched, where are you going?

congrats to all, in about a month We will have picked our schools.

Thank you inasummer :D

I’m really ecstatic myself. I just hope my financial aid package comes through - otherwise, I won’t be able to afford it.

It’s Smith or Bryn for me…OH DECISIONS. :|

Wellesley, Bryn, or Barnard here. (Bryn > Smith, )

Anyone wanna help me decide?

It’s between Barnard, Wellesley and Washington&Lee(full ride) >_<

^ Whoa, are you serious? Washington & Lee for sure! It’s an INCREDIBLE school and it’s free!!!

Hey, ladies!

I’m determined to post my 100th post here, in this beloved thread that helped me through the Anxiety (with a capital A) of the stupid waiting for the stupid answers. Barnard itself will be lost, but I find that after the fun I had reading and writing in this thread, I’m really mostly sad that we won’t have an Anxiety Thread Club all together. I mean, I’m not one to cry over colleges. Like etched likes to say, they don’t define who we are or what we’re capable of.

Anyway, I really wanna know which schools you guys decide to attend after all, and good luck to those who were accepted and planning to go!

inasummertown, I’m probably going to go to Beloit. I ended up getting rejected from all of my coastal schools, so I figure I’m meant to stay in the midwest.

neethus, congrats on Tufts!

simply lily, aww! I’ll definitely miss the people in this thread, too. Do you think it’d be possible to change the group title on Facebook or perhaps create a new group?

Good luck to all of you – wherever you guys end up! Here’s to four excellent years of college! You’ll all do fabulously, like you have up to this point.

Thanks etched  I’m really excited.

I wasn’t as active as many other Barnard lovers in this thread, but I used to come by every day. I’m going to either Converse College or UNC-Chapel Hill (go Tar Heels!), but whichever school I end up at, I’m definetely applying for Barnard again as a transfer applicant two years later with better GPA and ACT scores. I still feel bitter about getting flat-rejected from Barnard, but glad to know that I’m going somewhere
Anyway, congratulations '09 seniors, you guys rock!

^ UNC is a wonderful school!!! You should be proud :)

it is, indeed! I was unaware of it until very recently because I live so close to the school and visit the campus pretty much every day for food/piano practice/homework/just chilling out etc etc. While 10-15% of the seniors from our school go to UNC every year, many others want to move out of Chapel Hill as well, and I admit that I was among them :stuck_out_tongue: But now that I got into UNC and am getting to know hundreds and thousands of incoming freshmen all excited about fall, I couldn’t help but change my mind.
Still, Barnard will always exist somewhere inside my heart :)

neethus, congrats on Tufts! that’s such great news :)

for me, it’s either vassar, wesleyan, or emory. the financial aid packages were more or less the same, so I really have no idea which one I’ll end up at. plus, there’s that faint glimmer of hope of moving from the waitlist to the admitted list at Barnard, though I try to ignore it…

Pekingnese, I’d choose Barnard. I mean, where do you really want to go? You wanted Barnard, you applied, you wrote in the Barnard threads, and you got in! I think it seems like you’ve always wanted Barnard.
