<p>It’s up to each family to determine if the cost of Smith is worth it to them, because the cost of Smith is different for each family. Some pay the full cost out their own pockets because they can. Some could, but choose not to do the same, because they have other economic priorities or judge the value of the institution differently. For some people, the cost is far below the official “sticker price” because they’re able to qualify for the need based aid. It’s everyone’s perogative to make their own choice. Whether it’s “insane” or not depends on the family, the personal economic situaiton, and what they consider to be of value in the educational process.</p>
