<p>MOST IMPORTANT STAT: MIT rejected my butt yesterday, so of course that made me feel so damn wonderful… apparently i was not of the calibur that was fitting for such a prestigious university =D… so they printed my rejection letter upside down. man… that ****es me off more than being rejected. They touted all this crap about caring about individuals… but they can’t even print my letter correctly???</p>

<p>No. It sounds like you are in the same boat as the majority of applicants: on the bubble. There are very few automatic “yes” acceptances and most of these have incredibly high-stats and/or special attributes (like URM).</p>
<p>The rest of us wait for the committee to vote “yay” or “nay”, often in a split decision.</p>
