I got waitlisted… here’s what my letter said:

"Dear Miranda,

We thank you for giving us the opportunity to review your application. The size and strength of this year’s applicant pool made the admission committee’s deliberations challenging. At this time we have decided to offer you a place on our waiting list.

Please send an email to admission@reed.edu by April 15 to let us know whether or not you want to remain on the waiting list. Candidates on the waiting list will be reevaluated if spaces become available. Please see the attached “Frequently Asked Questions” for more detailed information about Reed’s waiting list.

If you have applied for financial aid, you should be aware financial aid may not be available for students admitted from the waiting list. After the candidates’ reply date, we will have a clearer sense of admission and financial aid opportunities for wait-listed students.

We will be communicating with you about your application and would appreciate being informed of any change in your address. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to write or call.

Sincerely,

Paul Marthers
Dean of Admission
Reed College"

I only cried a little bit… there’s still hope for me I guess, but I really REALLY need financial aid. I’m poor.
