Really nervous about applying

Note, this was 2012. The 2013 admission season saw record applications and even higher standards for some fields. But, in 2012, the middle 50% of LAS admits had ACT score of 27-32. This means 75% of the class was 27 or higher.

I know the others on this post have tried to give you hope and tell you ACT is not the only factor and you have other wonderful credentials, which is true. However, ACT is an important factor, so unless you meet a special criteria (such as scholarship athlete), you need to get the ACT score up much higher than 22, because there are many applicants with similar GPA and activities who have 27+ ACT scores.

I am sorry to rain on your parade, but I must be honest. You will need to do some serious ACT or SAT preparation to get your score up and get admitted to UIUC. I hope you take this as a challenge and do the work so you are admitted. Best of luck.
