europa, are you a Frango mint addict too? DH had to mail order them from Marshall Fields for years until Macy’s bought them out.

fraaaangggoooooooos! mmmm.
I grew up in Chicago and frangos are a family tradition.
Best low fat dessert recipe----one big spoonfull of whipped cream on the pie instead of two.

Sorry! I just realized that this was a low-cal DESSERT thread. Somehow I misread the title, therefore, the gravy recipe contribution.

NYMomof2, don’t apologize! I am going to try your recipe. It was a nice surprise to find it on this thread! I am not going to try it for Thanksgiving since I am not hosting the holiday this year, but I plan on trying it one day this winter.

I hope you like it, northeastmom!

I am going to post a link to a recipe for black bean brownies. Faith Middleton, the NPR foodie, was interviewing a woman who has written a cookbook of recipes using agave nectar instead of sugar. She was absolutely raving about a recipe for brownies that uses black beans as the major ingredient. She said that they were incredibly good. I am not able to use the recipe, as it also includes walnuts, and a tiny amount of walnut dust is enough to cause an allergic reaction in S2, followed by an Epipen injection and a trip to the ER. I don’t think they can just be left out, because with the black beans they replace the flour. But here it is for others to try:

Having once made black-bean brownies, I feel compelled to alert others that they provide all of the … ahhhh… punch that one expects from eating a lot of beans…

If anyone is still around—can you make the ‘pumpkin fluff/pumpkin mousse pie’ the night before serving it? Trying to get every thing finished ahead of time as much as possible…

Thanks!! Happy Thanksgiving!

^wax coated cardboard. Pie Crust is not good for you in any form.
