Received e-mail with the subject "CAL FRESHMAN DECISIONS COMING SOON"

^^^I have a friend who was a spring admit this past year. He still went up to Berkeley, and took classes through their extension program (as many, many spring admits do). They count for credits, toward your major, etc. And you’re still considered a Cal student, so you can still go to football games and all that other good stuff just like a “normal” student would. The only thing is that spring admits get dorms last, so don’t expect housing. In my friends case, it wasn’t a problem, as he was in a house just barely off campus. Then this semester, when dorm space opened and he was officially part of the school, he transfered into a dorm. He actually liked the extension program, as the classes tend to be smaller, which is kinda nice for your first semester. And you still participate in all the school activities, so no one really knows except you and your family. Then 2nd semester you are “officially” in, and the rest is done! Hope that helped, and good luck!

over 700 students of the 1000 spring admits who SIR are Fall Ext. Students. Only about 300 new frosh actually come in spring.

Fall Extension’s real name is FPF (Fall Program for Freshman), so don’t get confused between Extension and FPF; they’re the same thing.

Oh. Okay. Spring doesn’t sound that bad anymore, I’d only worry about not knowing many of my classmates, but that’s easily rectifiable, I suppose.

byan: what’s the Incentive Award Program?
