Receiving Response for early action fall 2015

I also applied for Entrepreneurship but haven’t heard anything. I am however, way below LMU’s stats. LMU is my reach, and because I am from a catholic high school in Maryland, I am hoping that will make up for it…patiently waiting.

D just got the email!!! Accepted into the Theatre program!!! Her audition was amazing, her essay amazing, her grades pretty good, and her ACT ehh. Out of state. So happy for her! There is hope for everyone who applied!

D applied EA and her MyPaw finally just updated half hour ago. Changed to “Application Incomplete - See Requirements.” Then under Supplemental Items Listing they added “Seventh Semester HS Transcript - Senior Year mid-year transcript” as “Not Received.” No email or letter. Sounds like she got deferred. She’s going thru finals next week. Hoping counselor sends out that mid-year transcript before staff leaves for Christmas break. Wonder if we’ll even her from LMU in January and will we have to wait now until end of March like the rest of the Regular Decision applicants. So frustrating…

Same exact situation for me!!! How could they not send an email earlier than this?

@Platinumxx2 From what I understand from our high school counselor, normally the 7th semester transcript is not requested unless the college isn’t confident enough about admitting a student with their current qualifications compared to the other early applicant pool. So there would be no way for them to email us earlier that this mid-year transcript would be required. There’s a very good chance they’ll still admit the student after consideration of the transcript (if all grades good for the semester). My D had re-taken her SATs in December cuz she wanted to break at least 2000 mark with the help of a private SAT prep tutor. Her unweighted gpa is a 3.76. Her Oct SAT score was at 1800. So we’re gonna email LMU and let them know that daughter is very interested in the film program and will send her Dec. SAT score for additional consideration. D feels confident about her Dec SAT score results being released on 12/23. So can only hope and think positive.

Do you think if I call them tomorrow and have my 1st quarter (school runs on 4 quarter system) grades sent tomorrow , they’ll still consider me for the EA pool?

I don’t think it would hurt to call them to explain what you’re doing so they know you’re aware your app is incomplete. But D’s catholic high school also runs on 4 quarter system with the 1st semester ending after the last final on Wed. So there’s no reason why you couldn’t send your mid-year transcript. If LMU specifically is requesting the Seventh Semester Transcript, then that’s what you have to submit for them to reconsider your app. Guess it’s worth asking them whether your application would still be considered under Early Action since you still have to submit mid-year transcripts.

Just wondering, did you submit any senior year grades?

@Momofe97 Not sure if your question was for me or to user @Platinumxx2. But my D has not submitted any senior grades since her semester is not over yet until after her finals this week. Won’t be able to self-report since LMU requires the actual official 7th Semester Transcript/Mid-Year Senior Report directly from the school.

Did those who were deferred receive an email?

D got defer letter in mail today although her MyPaw status changed yesterday on a Sunday in early afternoon from “application currently under review” to “application incomplete see requirements.”

@Zcareysmom‌ I received a letter in the mail today saying I was deferred.

MyPaw updated from Incomplete to Application Currently Under Review now that 7th sem. grades/Midyear Report received. Crossing fingers…

did any deferred applicants hear back yet?

Still under review for my D. Her FAFSA status says “received complete”. Hopefully we hear earlier than the RD applicants.

@Shoot4DStars‌ i’ve heard that the “received complete” FAFSA status is usually followed by an acceptance. have you heard anything about that?
