Recommendation letter

Hi guys, I just realized I asked my advisor instead of my counselor to write me a recommendation letter. Since he already wrote it, I can not remove them, what can I do? Will it heavily affect my application?

Did he write for the principal/counselor recommendation part? If yes, I think advisors or even homeroom teachers can help you with that part of the letter for some schools when they specifically said its okay. I asked my middle school coordinator(advisor in another word) to write it for me

Yeah, it was for the principal/counselor part. Did it workout for you? Also is it ok if I only send my high school transcript when applying and not my middle school. My high school transcript is only fall term and winter mid-term because I am applying for grade 10.

It’d be very unusual for them not to want 9th. If it’s on your middle school transcript, send that.

I am currently a 9th grader and I’m applying for 10th grade. My middle school grade was not the best so I was thinking of only sending the fall term and winter mid term of 9th grade.

Probably not an option. Most schools want the current year and the last full year at a minimum

For my son, on the Gateway (part3), it say “previous grade for grade 6, 7”, so in your case, you have to submit whatever previous grade reports the schools ask for. And your school registrar should be the one sending the reports, not you submit it yourself.

And for current grade, the school only submitted the autumn term report.

For the principal/counselor recommendation, we were suggested by a family friend, who did the application before, that we should ask the academic head of year group, rather than the principal, and that was what we did – we are from the UK curriculum international school.

Then they’ll want 8th.

Schools don’t want students who hide things, but students who own them. If you have turned over a new leaf, say so.

Oh ok thanks, do you think I can reason why my spring term last year was bad? I had a major surgery and missed over half the term. Also my essay is about a sport that is not in the school I am applying to, it’s not like I am going to be varsity level player in that sport but will it matter?

Yes. And you may also want to add anything you learned about yourself studying alone to catch up. Maybe it made you appreciate an energized classroom, for example.

And yes, the essay is fine if it revealed who you are as a person. The whole point of the essays is the creation of a human, not just an assembly of stats. The only caveat is if you are stating that your #1 goal in life is to do that professionally or at an Olympic level – something that would suggested to the school that they can’t help you be who you want to be.

Where do I explain it? I have already finished my essays so I can’t explain it there.

SAO asks for current year transcript and 2 prior years transcripts.

But how can i explain why my grade was bad in the spring term of grade 8?

Hi, I just realized when I paid the fees for the school I am applying to, I didn’t fully complete my profile, how can I edit it?

If you mean the candidate profile, you can’t unless you email the AO’s or such. You could also use the additional information section that many of the schools provide.

where is the additional information section?
