Recommendations - blue ray player with Netflix

Wow! I had no idea I had such a good TV. We used to have MSNBC until it went HD. I thought that I didn’t get it any more because my TV couldn’t show it.

Not sure whether we have a cable box or not. I am about to change from Cablevision to FIOS, just wondering whether I really need to pay for TV any more.

Thanks for all the advice!

With streaming from Youtube, Netflix and Hulu+, movies on demand from Amazon and Blockbuster, music from Pandora or NPR there is hardly any need for a separate cable subscription. Even PBS now has a free video streaming portal. I just got a new WiFi Sony Blu-Ray player which I actually control from my iPhone. My kids also use the Netflix and Hulu subscriptions ($8/month) to watch their favorite TV shows on their laptops in college.

You can also get a cheap ATSC tuner and watch free OTA (over the air) HD broadcasts if you still want access to regular broadcast TV.
