<p>I emailed the UChicago admissions office earlier with the same question.</p>
<p>Here is what they said:</p>
<p>"We recommend a couple of paragraphs – there’s no specific word limit. I’ve seen good ones that are as short as a paragraph or as long as a page and a half. So two paragraphs seems like a good middle ground.</p>

<p>It seems like length isn’t a big deal, so I won’t worry about it too much anymore.
