recommended reading list

Read Kafka. Personally I hold “The Trial” to be his best work, but many of his short stories are also very good!

Hey I read “A Confederacy of Dunces” in class. All the characters are soo funny, especially Miss Trixie

For SAT purposes, Catch-22 and Fountainhead. Definitely not any Salinger, I don’t see how Catcher or Franny would be challenging enough.

Life Death Legend of Jim Morrison
In Cold Blood

thanks to those who recommended catcher in the rye. I just finished it and it was an amazing book- one of my favorites :)

WHAT is the best ,DEFINATE best u have ever read 4 SAT???

The Count of Monte Cristo (Dumas). I’m recommending it for enjoyment as well as intellectual stimulation (lots of SAT words!)

omg, The Count of Monte Cristo is AMAZING!!! ce livre

oui, je souhaite que je le lisais en fran

awsome thread guys.

though it dissapoints me how i read so few books throughout my life so far. i missed out on a lot of great stuff. now i’m so busy. wtvr. i’m happy. it’s new years anyways.

i’m going make some changes. i’m gonna read this year:
catch22
scarlett letter
1984

kudos!

how long is Catch-22? is it worth reading? i wanna read it.

i borrowed scarlet letter yesterday. trying to finish it today before school starts.

i’m like 1/2 way through. the book goes very slowly and exhaustively expatiates every friggin detail. lotta sat vocab and repeats a couple many times (ie: lurid, infamy, ingnimony) many complex sentences that take up like 5 lines with perchance 2 or 3 semicolons!

ihope the the plot gets more interesting in the second half.

this is not really a guy’s book. but maybe soomeone interested in new england history. that’s definitely not me unfortunately.

but definintely awesome for vocab!

personally, i thought the book got very juicy in the second half. hope you enjoy it too!

wow. the second half of scarlet letter got very succulent indeed!

overall, i recommend the book. the first half was TOO descriptive and boring.
