So D’yer Maker and I go back almost 30 years (yikes), but recently discovered each other’s identity from posts here. Great fun… oh, the stories I could tell, (and he of me)! :)

I too am humbled by the mention in D’yer Maker’s list, as I am too one who came and learned from those before me and am now trying to help those who follow.

I’ll throw out a couple more folks who also deserve kudos -
prepparent (haven’t seen much of him lately, though)
hsmomstef - the queen of finding schools to fit the unusual applicant who needs something different and of course needs FA!
MomofWildChild - although a bit removed from the prep scene, she give the unvarnished truth about a lot of things.

And sbergman - by all means keep on plugging the home team! Your school has a lot to offer to families who are looking for a great experience but want to keep their kids closer to their southern home.

The stalking comment is a running joke we have in our family…

It’s funny because a couple of the “kids” I’m “freinds” with need “looking out for” in regards to what they post online. One girl - under 13 at the time, so should not have had Facebook - friended me, but had been telling her mom (my in real like friend) she didn’t have facebook. Once the pictures of the 12 year old looking about 16 showed up, we ratted her out - for her own safety. But, mostly any “kid” that I have as a friend I’ve know since they were 5 years old and they are like my own child.

Another interesting point, one girl posted on my son’s wall about a school rejection last year - they are bleeping stupid…bleep them… Clearly SHE wasn’t thinking - several children of administrators at the rejected school attend her current school…AND were HER facebook friends. With me on Facebook, it keeps my son “honest” and thinking about what he posts. And hopefully it keeps some of his friends that way too.

It is at this point, pretty much the only way my son communicates with us. He rarely calls, doesn’t answer regualar email, but will repond to a PM sent on Facebook.
