Oh then romani, you might want to reconsider a corgi. They shed twice a year. Once from January 1st to July first, then July 2nd to December 31st 
and that doesn’t count their coat blowing which is way more than normal shedding…but they don’t smell….I will give them that

Fur everywhere, yes. But bi-daily vacuuming? Dream on. Once a week swiffer and vacuum at best. We just co-exist with the dust bunnies.
I have really, really bad allergies. It was necessary for us. By bi-daily I meant every other day (it was not the right word, I realize now, I’m not quite sure why that was what popped into my head…)

^ That was cute ! I doubt I am alone in this , but when I am out for a few hours or more, I get a greeting from them that is like the videos you see with dogs reuniting with their military moms and dads 
It’s nice that they are always so happy to see us .
My daughter comes to visit every few months and they go ballistic when she comes home !!
I didn’t realize corgis didn’t smell. Elkhounds are the same; when my boy gets wet he smells like a wet wool sweater.
We saw a elkhound puppy this morning. I had to take my mittens off so I could feel that puppy fur.
I don’t know if this is the right thread for it, but I just wanted to share. As I mentioned, my pup had a leg injury, and we went to the vet for a follow up. They did a scan, and it turns out he had mild hip dysplasia (born with it) and a little bit of arthritis. So far, we don’t need any pain meds or any other intervention, other than some Omega 3 supplements. I am relieved about that. I am also relieved this is just an aging issue, not something life threatening. But that may be the reason he didn’t want to walk sometimes.
