The financial aid, while not given out to all or considered generous overall, is not entirely based on need. Yes, need is a factor. But with aid that is solely 100% based on need, the amount would change each of the four years while in college based on a new FAFSA every year that is submitted. My kid went to NYU/Tisch and was awarded a scholarship that was generous and it was for all four years. It did not vary in amount each year based on need. The scholarship/grant was the same amount guaranteed each year of college. She did qualify for need as well, given that we had two kids in college. In her senior year at Tisch, she was awarded three additional named scholarships that year, that were smaller. So, just saying, one can’t count on this, but it does exist at this school.
