Is anyone else still waiting?
@Elibry73 I visited multiple times and had an interview that I though went really well. What really bothers me is that everyone I talked to acted like they were impressed. This feels like a real punch on the gut, but I guess it happened for a reason.
waitlisted its wack that they did the waves like that
i got waitlisted, i know it says we find out after june but is there any chance we’ll find out earlier?
i just made a thread for syracuse waitlist, if anyone wants to post updates !!
I haven’t heard back at all from Syracuse, I submitted late which they allowed but I didn’t even get waitlisted. No response at all. I emailed. No response. Has anyone else not heard back yet?
I applied back in January I believe and still haven’t heard anything. No waitlist or decision. My girl applied a week before I did and heard 2 weeks ago so I’m hoping they drop a wave this Friday bc not tryna find an apartment and a new job in only 3 months
Is scholarship info included in decision letter?
@biearbe Hey! I’m basically in the same exact boat as you, coming into Newhouse undecided w/ a 1870 scholarship & invitation to the honors program! I know I’m replying to this very late, but how was your aid (need-based) after the scholarship was given? (Also, I’m new to College Confidential so I don’t know how to reply directly to a comment haha)
Respectfully speaking, if you already have a full-tuition scholarship then I don’t think you’ll get any more money toward room and board or supplies, unless you have extremely dire financial limitations.
@vc1288 Did you just get accepted off the wailist or were you notified in March or before? I believe everyone who was accepted RD should have received all of their financial aid already.
@user_464168 I got notified in March. They were missing a couple documents and there was a mistake with one of them, so I got that fixed and recently completed my to-do list. I wanna be patient but I’m worried about not having enough time to make a thoughtful decision before May 1 or not having enough time to appeal in case it’s not enough aid for some reason.
And regarding the dire financial limitations, my family is low income & the COVID-19 situation in NYC making us lose our income is making this a whole lot worse :’)
@vc1288 Well I hope for the best for you and your family!
If you are worried about not getting an answer soon it wouldn’t hurt to email the financial aid office and/or your regional admissions counselor and explain the situation to them.
Hopefully we’ll both get to be on campus in the fall. Good luck!
@user_464168 Thanks for your input & hope to see you too!
@vc1288 The Admissions Committee is pleased to further recognize your achievements with an annual Full Tuition 1870 Scholarship of $54,270. On MySlice though, the total aid is $49,913.00
@biearbe Yeah, mine got reduced as well. I emailed to ask and they said it was because I would be receiving a TAP grant. I meant how was your aid other than the scholarship, since we still need to pay for room and board and other expenses.
Does anyone know when transfer decisions will come out? I tried to find a separate thread for transfers but I don’t think there is one. All they told me is that transfer decisions will be “rolling out through the summer”.
Has anyone received their welcome packet yet? Thanks!
Hi everyone,
I got an email today saying congratulations on my admission. On my original decision letter it said to email to be placed on the waitlist, and I didn’t because I had other top choices. Do you guys think that this acceptance email is a mistake?
Did you reject your offer? This year we will have weird stories. Schools can go back to accepted students and in your case waitlisted and try to take them
