@racereer The 24% statistic was the average over the entire 5 year period, not per year, so it is very optimistic (and probably wrong) to assume last year’s stat was 24%. The overall admit rate in 2015 was 31% (compared to 41% only two years earlier!), so the higher rates in the earlier years are going to make things look better than they really are for the current cycle. I have a feeling that is why they use a 5 year cycle for comparison. You should probably assume you are in the same boat as the RD applicants, no better, no worse.
