<p>Now that was enterprising. It appears as though rdaneel is right. There is no other rate of 29.3 cents listed. The rates for “Standard Mail” (less than First Class) are all lower than that. </p>

<p>I recall that there was much upset in December 2005 when the MIT mail room inadvertently sent out Early Action acceptances (which, from MIT, come in tubes) on a Friday but did not send out rejections/deferrals (regular letters) until Monday – which is not what the Admissions Office had intended at all. MIT duly apologized. </p>
