Rejected

Well, as some of you have said, it is possible to get rejected and then accepted. My son received his acceptance letter this weekend one week after receiving his rejection notice!

Now, after the shock wares off, he needs to make a decision. This has been quite a rollercoaster ride. We are now headed out to COS in a couple weeks for orientation. Hopefully the snow will be melted by then!

Congratulations!

My son’s ALO called this weekend. (My son is the one in the first post on the “rejected” thread.) I guess you could say it was a consolation phone call. He was very nice and said that with my son’s stats, it was pretty likely that he’d still get in. He told our son that since his rejection letter said something about him being a “qualified candidate” (I think that’s what it was) then it was more likely that he’d get in than someone whose letter didn’t say that. Does anyone know anything about that?

Also, it was encouraging to hear the ALO say that his athletics, extra-curriculars, etc. looked good. When our son did his interview of course, he didn’t really know how the ALO was viewing his application.

Also, the ALO said he’d like to come to our son’s graduation and present him with his ROTC scholarship, so that was nice.

What a roller coaster! You must be going nuts! Timely, I’m glad to hear of your ALO’s phone call.
