Rejection Letters

Wow, maybe it is because I am looking at the is thread seven years later, but there sure seems to be a lot more going on in this thread than “how to handle a rejection letter,” especially given other threads that have popped up over the years on coaching vs. no coaching, the pros and cons of coaching, marketing of services, etc. Interesting.

As for rejection letters. They will come to your kids. That is almost as much of a given as death and taxes. We let our son open the letters on his own. These kids are going to embark on competitive field. They need to take ownership of that and this is the part where they start to become adults and have to deal with rejection. They need to learn to get up and move on. There may be some sadness, anger, fits of questioning their talent for some, and a million other emotions. BUT there will also be an acceptance letter for (most) kids, somewhere along the line.
