They’re on TV now . . . still looking EK
Well, I was there with my daughter for the torchlight parade - we walked around the Seattle Center first to check out all the stuff (fun to see the floats and bands and horses hanging around waiting) and then had a great spot on 4th to watch. It was so much fun - loved the dancing alaska air flight attendants, the soundwave drill team, the dragon dancers, and the very colorful underwater float (can’t remember who that was.) The pirate boat cannons were way too loud!
So glad you were able to see it!! Tomorrow, the Angels will fly.
Re: Seafair Pirates cannon blasts. It took me years to figure out that the Pirates sound the siren before firing the cannon.
I remember when the Torchlight Parade was on Friday night. As a kid, my mom would take me and my siblings downtown, meet up with my father at his office, and find a spot to watch the parade. Many fond memories of Seafair.
I so miss being there this time of year. The Blue Angels frequently roared over my parents house. One year in HS I had a job as “volunteer security” at the pits. Yea, a couple of 16 year old girls with flashlights were “security”.
EK knows who I went to HS with, I think.
