reputation? and co-ops/internships?

WPI isn’t particularly well-known amongst most people outside of New England. I’m from Oklahoma, and the only person I know there who had heard of it was my differential equations professor at Oklahoma State University (where I was taking classes during high school). However, it is quite well-known in academia and industry; generally, tech companies respect WPI graduates.

As far as internships goes, WPI doesn’t really offer a real co-op experience like other schools, though the (required) senior project is often done with a company, which is vaguely similar to a co-op (though it doesn’t have to be).

Here is a list of companies who recruited WPI students at the Fall 2007 career fair:

Some of the most popular companies hiring WPI students include Raytheon, Bose, Boston Scientific, General Electric, John Hancock, Microsoft, Pfizer, Texas Instruments, and UMASS Medical Center.
