Due to differences in grading standards, any forum based on a small numeric range would have a variety of problems. For example, a 3.3 at an elite magnet school might mean something quite different than a 3.3 at a very average HS.
The other issue is whether members who fell outside that range would want a plethora of other GPA-based fora. And what about the large number of members from high schools without weighted grades…?
So, here’s the challenge - is there a better way of grouping? “Average students” sounds kind of patronizing… but I think if there is indeed demand for such a group, a non-numeric title will be better. Ideas?
