Wellesley vs. Bowdoin fit advice

Hi! I’m a sophomore in high school so I haven’t applied/been accepted anywhere yet but I’ve been looking at Bowdoin and Wellesley and I just want some advice on which you would recommend. I might major in environmental science (maybe double major in humanities) but I’m not sure so I don’t want to decide just based on that. In terms of location I’m fine with either and I’m fine with going to a women’s college. Bow doing is a little smaller so that could be a plus but Wellesley has Boston MIT etc.Could you just tell me a bit about the culture/student life at each of these? Also my gpa is around a 3.3 weighted right now. Do you think I would be able to get it high enough for these schools in time for apps?

Middlebury/similar schools chance me and advice please!

I’m going into my junior year this fall so I know this is kind of early, sorry. Could anyone chance me for Middlebury and other similar schools ( e.g. Williams, Bowdoin, Wellesley) Current GPA: 3.9 weighted probably about 3.7 unweighted 2 APs so far: 4 on European history 5 on Compsci Next year taking 3 more: environmental, language and composition, and APUSH Senior year will take: human geography, calc bc (hopefully), French, and maybe another history class or AP lit Practice SAT scores average about 1500, hope to improve ECs: Freshman year- Baking a Difference (selling baked goods to raise money for charity) Sitting with Seniors (volunteering at nursing homes) Sophomore- Society of women engineers Model UN Junior year- Society of women engineers Congressional debate team Senior- Same as junior year, hopefully with leadership position Summers- Freshman, not much Sophomore, volunteering in park and local library, documented types of wildlife in local nature reser…

NESCAC/LAC for CS

Hi! Junior here. Could anyone tell me if the nescac or other lac schools would be a good choice for CS, particularly Middlebury(or Hamilton, Bowdoin, Williams, Vassar, etc)? Which would be the strongest? There are many other reasons I like these schools but I’m unclear on how strong their CS departments may be because they are smaller schools( if they are good for. CS they are my top choices). Thanks, and feel free to recommend schools!

Middlebury vs Smith [for CS & Campus Culture + Other Suggestions]

Hello! I’m considering applying to one of these schools (with Haverford as a possible runner up) Ed 2 next year. For context I’m applying to Yale SCEA and in the likely event that I’m rejected/deferred I plan to apply ED 2 elsewhere. I would like to major in computer science but would like a school also strong in the humanities as I may want to double major/minor or at least be able to take a number of high quality humanities/arts classes. Pros/cons of Smith: I like the idea of a women’s college but I have slight reservations about what I’ve heard of Smith being VERY politically correct, including some students who object to such things as the default pronoun being “she”. Mind you, I consider myself generally liberal and accepting of all sexualities/gender identities. Again, this might just be way overblown, but some insight would be appreciated.
