Revolving on the baggage carousel

Pizzagirl LOL on the avoid Heathrow advice. When dh’s luggage got lost on our Scotland trip, the guys in Glasgow said, Heathrow Terminal 3 and just shook their heads. I thought it was crazy the time we flew to Glasgow via Chicago, but maybe it was a good idea after all!

My DIL has done the Chicago-Glasgow flight a couple of times and highly recommends it. :)

To Pizzagirl… we generally avoid Heathrow like the plague. What happened with older d is that her flight was not originally routed through Heathrow but through Manchester, which had worked perfectly fine once before when she flew to Rome for study abroad semester actually. Several weeks before she was to leave, her Manchester to Paris connection was cancelled and she was re-routed through Heathrow. not her choice but she did not have much flexibility as she had to be at the Paris airport by a certain time in order to travel with student group by bus six hours to Brittany. If you miss the bus, you take the train at your own expense so it wasn’t ideal…it was an inconvenience. but she did have a change of clothes with her as well as some needed toiletries and picked up a few things to tide her over.

A physical impossibility when one brings back 12 lbs of German Chocolate, some weird home depot type item DH just can’t find ‘on continent’ and S decides to purchase the traditional local leather pants which weight about 10 lbs. :)

I’ve heard too chapters from the Heathrow Horror Stories book that we’ve managed to avoid it so far.

^Haha. Of course, coming BACK is a whole 'nother story. That’s why you travel light going over!
