My kid received 4 promotion emails in Feb/March. Last one March 4th about the residential colleges. I feel like past astrology there really wasn’t a correlation.
I got that email March 4th ET (international). My latest email was yesterday for the decision date and time.
guys i think im gonna miss being on these forums. there is something so comforting in talking with other people as we brave this college application cycle. idk about yall but ive gotten rejected at all my targets and my reaches so far, but talking on here and reddit has made me feel a little bit better. Ill probably never see you guys again, but I hope you all do well in life and succeed no matter where u end up (although hopefully it is rice!).

waitlisted….1560 SAT, 3.99 gpa/5.26 weighted…lots of APs, good essays, Mech Eng….completed physics E&M last year, finishing Diff Equations this semester…RD applicant and seeing waitlists in fashion…2nd school to do this…
Waitlisted but not disappointed!! OOS, MechE, 1540 & NMF, 4.0UW/4.57W, 14 APs, amazing interview, pretty good ECs and essays.
Son was WL. 1600/36, NMF, IB and 11 APs. All As/5s. Essays were amazing, but ECs weren’t great. Good options elsewhere so he’s okay, but bummed about this one as he really like Rice on the visit. Also WL at others so maybe a trend? Like they know the kids are applying to other good schools so if you’re on the cusp they’ll WL and see who accepts in RD and then pull from WL? We’re treating a WL like a rejection.
