<p>Normally about 7-9% of the Richmond Scholar recipients are international students which is very near the typical representation of international students in our first-year class most years. Yes, Canadians are internationals. We don’t have any sort of system that tries to spread them out based on country–instead we choose the students that our faculty are most excited to have a chance to work with and teach. We don’t have time to run numbers on the geographic breakdown of the semi-finalists–we’re too busy trying to read the applicant pool. </p>
