Rielle Hunter's GQ photos (John Edwards's mistress)

OMG. This emasculated, hen-pecked pushover thought he should be POTUS?

That poor kid, and POOR Jack and Emma Claire! I…I hope they have many years left with their mother.

Let me get this straight…what’s the right reaction to being brutally wronged? Shouldn’t someone have “mighty wrath” when their loved ones abuse them? And if you make it known that you will be angry if you are wronged, then it is your fault when your loved ones lie to you?

But you know, it’s not nice to speak ill of the dead. So I’ll stop doing that.

How true, Ispf72, JE and RH really deserve each other!

Since you asked … from the interview (and yes, she calls Edwards “Johnny”):

So she went along with this loathsome charade because she was concerned that, if she didn’t, it would “jeopardize” the relationship between Edwards and the child he fathered? How much more “jeopardized” can a relationship be if a father denies his paternity and pretends someone else is responsible for his child’s existence? Really, this lady is a lunatic.

I feel sorriest for Cate. She has to cope with knowing that her mom is dying of cancer, that her father had an affair, and that she has a half-sibling. Thow into the mix that I assume she thinks there’s a good chance that she’ll end up having to act as trustee of any financial arrangements her mom makes for her younger children.

Jack and Emma Claire are young enough that they probably don’t understand all that is going on.

I hope Cate has some really good friends she can’t count on.

Frazzled, thanks for the quote. I agree Rielle Hunter is a nut case. I really feel sorry for Quinn and the Edwards’s children. What a mess their parents have created.

Hmmm, I wonder what her “storyline” will be if Johnny ends up marrying another woman?

Years back I remember seeing a youtube with Johnnie, set to “I’m so pretty.” Before some event, he was caught primping and fluffing his hair in front of a mirror…and it seemed to go on forever! I remember thinking, “something is not right here.” Yeah…there’s a LOT that’s not right about that slime ball. Thankfully, he’s not our president!

“Hmmm, I wonder what her “storyline” will be if Johnny ends up marrying another woman?”

^^^ Andrew Young made him do it. :D

I struggle to work up much sympathy for Elizabeth Edwards, either. Recall, that the whole time this was going on, and the whole time she KNEW is was going on, she was going on every TV and radio show in America attacking Hillary Clinton for her marital problems and telling America that her Johnny Breck Girl would be a stronger advocate for women.

So little sweet Elizabeth Edwards is a lying, power-hungry sell-out no different than that CAD husband of hers. I wish her the best with her health issues and a long life with her kids, but respect? No. Sorry.

Riele is a filmmaker, right?

So she would understand how the image photographed translates on a screen. I can’t believe she cried for two hours after seeing the pictures. Any woman wanting to be taken seriously (especially in this kind of degrading spectacle) wouldn’t disrobe before a photo shoot.

My grandmother used to say that when you get dressed to go out, take one item off so you don’t over-do it. She usually meant jewelry. Perhaps Riele thought that it meant pants.

Riele is deluded, but I am not buying it.

This was the most hilarious news story of the day, but littlegreenmom, you’ve made it even better!

Agree wholeheartedly.

Many sympathise with her “dying of cancer.” Let’s face it, we are all dying of something…there’s no escape from it. It’s guaranteed that our children will be orphans some day.

We can only hope. The alternative is unimaginable to me. That is something that Elizabeth Edwards experienced, however.

The photos are perfect for her story. Had she kept her pants on, it wouldn’t have fit.

I find this statement cold and unfeeling. Yes, we’re all dying although, having no major disease, my death is (hopefully) 30-40 years away, not imminent like Elizabeth’s. AND my children will orphans when they are fully grown adults, not young children like Elizabeth’s. There IS a difference.

I also feel sorry for Elizabeth. First, she had a child who died and that alone is so tragic and something a parent never fully recovers from. Second, she is battling cancer which is horrible in itself. Also, she faces a younger death and with children under age 18 (and in fact, single at present). Then, her husband had an ongoing affair and fathered a child. That alone would be extremely hurtful for any wife. Add to it, all this stuff about the affair is public. Each of these things are very negative experiences and she has several highly significant negative experiences to contend with. I would not want to be in her shoes.

Either I can see right through the tactic OR I am too cynical. I do not believe she was unaware of the photos, I do not believe she doesn’t understand photography, I do not believe they were shocking to her.

I do believe this is nothing more than a publicity stunt. Maybe if she cries about how revealing they are, or cries about the poses, then more people will look! Are there some of us so naive that we don’t realize if she gets big publicity about her photos, that more people will look because of that publicity?

And Elizabeth held on for so long. I remember an interview in which she said she knew John was a good man who made a mistake and that her focus was her children, what he’d done didn’t really change her life/her children’s…I still respect her for that. Saying your two-timing husband was a good man, save that mistake, takes a lot of love and wide perspective on life in general.

I have a friend who reconciled with her husband after he’d had an affair (not so public, obviously) and have always wondered if I had that kind of love, that kind of strength. No question Elizabeth is a strong woman–steel magnolia, as Southern women are sometimes referred to~ Keeping her in my thoughts these days…

There is a rumour John Edwards is buying a beach house for Rielle Hunter where we have our beach house. UGHHHHHHHHHH! I do not want to see them at beach club or on the golf course, so tacky. Well at least there is a dress code, so she can’t forget her pants again.
