LUCKY!! LOL! You are getting out just in time…enjoy the warm weather! Yes, it would be funny if you ended up talking to her without knowing who she is. Don’t be shy about talking to kids; you can even spend a few minutes in the Fishbowl of Goldstein (formerly North) Hall, the freshman dorm, where they tend to gather at night. I’m glad to hear your mom will be with you, since you’ll be able to see more of Sarasota with a car. There are some cool shops and restaurants south of the college @ Main St. and St. Armand’s, and if you drive a little further south you can see what kinds of stores are in the shopping malls. If you go east on University from the airport and head toward 75 there is all kinds of everyday shopping (Target, Bed Bath Beyond, Ulta, Panera, Circuit City, etc.). I hope you get to the beach, even if it’s just to stick your toes in the sand! I’m jealous! When I looked at colleges with my kids, I always thought it was important for them to choose a place where they’d be happy living for 4 years.</six>

I hope you get lots of information. Don’t be afraid to fall in love; if it isn’t financially in the cards right now you can keep it in mind if things change. Also, take into account not just tuition, but also compare housing and board costs which tend to be much higher in the NE. We all hope that someday Ringling will be able to offer competitive aid, but right now it seems the priority is capital development (new buildings, technology, etc.). I know the school does offer some big scholarships, and lots of opportunity for aid if you do community service. Financial Aid can tell you about those programs, so ask!

Have a wonderful trip!
