I haven’t heard anything yet, but I know two people who did receive finalist notifications.
Do you know when they were notified?
I’m guessing that means everyone who was invited to be a finalist was notified yesterday? Thoughts?
Possibly. But there are 8 or 9 semifinalists who have been active on this thread, and I assume they would say if they got it. Since no one has, it’s unlikely that they’ve notified all finalists yet. How could all the people on this chat statistically not be invited to the weekend? They invite about 2/3 of interview recipients.
Also waiting for finalist results
From what I’ve heard, only accepted finalists from Duke have gotten their results. So far, they haven’t released results for UNC, and they haven’t sent rejection letters to Duke people.
They may have sent only Duke finalists yesterday at 6:30 pm est, holding off on UNC or something.
Hey @PoliSciGuy5 are u in college or high school and are the people you know are finalists are they in college or high school? Because there seems to be some confusion in this thread due to the notification dates being different depending on your age…
Why would they break up notifications between Duke and UNC? I don’t see the reasoning behind that.
I’m pretty sure the Duke committee chooses their finalists, and the UNC commitee chooses their finalists separately.
For high school tho? I thought high school finalists were one giant pool not school specific.
This is from the Robertson website (Application FAQs):
“A student who completes admission applications to both Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill can be considered for the Robertson Program at both schools. However, because the Robertson Program’s selection processes at Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill are independent of one another, a student who applies to both universities will be considered separately by the two Robertson selection committees and may or may not be selected for further consideration as a Robertson candidate based on the applicant pool at each university. Students may be named as Finalists for the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program at both schools.”
I think there haven’t been any UNC or dual finalist results. Let’s wait till Monday and see what happens.
Fairly certain he is referring to high school.
I received the invitation for finalist status at UNC yesterday afternoon. I believe that around 1/3 of the semifinalists interviewed become finalists.
Does anyone know how dual finalists works? How many students are selected as dual finalists?
