Rochester RIT Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2025 Admission

back at you! agree.

also not sure how much to trust reddit person, but certainly may be real…That comment doesn’t sound outlandish and given first year with EA I can see that they might be having issues managing workflow.

I saw some reddit posts today indicating they’d been admitted EA (they were lamenting not enough merit.)

My C25 hasn’t heard back yet

They were really on top of everything when my kid applied RD a couple years ago, and I’ve heard others say that too. I think the issues are indeed likely because of EA being a new thing for them.

I’m not sure I’m even ready to say there are issues, honestly. From past CC RIT forum threads it looks like they’ve always done the releases program by program for ED and RD, and it’s generally been over about a two-week timeframe. EA is new but it makes sense that they’d use the same general process.

The other thing I’ll note from the RIT subreddit is that the only groups who have posted acceptances are internationals (some comments indicate that this group is evaluated more on a rolling basis) and NTID admits. I haven’t seen anyone else post a decision. We are still within RIT’s stated timeframe “end of January” (in fact, we have barely entered this timeframe).

This part is a guess: the two-week timeframe may apply to first choice majors. From past threads it looks like those who were accepted, but into their second choice, got notified a little later, and sometimes even after the two-week timeframe. That would put those decisions in February. Again, just a guess while we wait impatiently

Small vent but I hate how schools harass you multiple times a day to get you to apply and then let you wait for a few months, LOL

Haha, we are all here to vent a bit! I’m glad this is my last rodeo!

agree, they said from day 1 (I think?) by end of January. Plenty of time for them to meet that…

Lucky you!!

Right? RIT was sending me and my D25 emails almost daily. Now that the ED2 deadline passed, crickets. She applied EA. We’re not in a position to commit anywhere until we can see the full financial aid info.

Has anyone seen or heard of any non-international EA decisions going out? I haven’t seen anything at all since the international decisions went out last week.

I haven’t….

I have not heard anything. A few people from my D’s school applied and not all to the same program. I’m sure if she had heard anything from them, she would have said something.

Any news yet–DD still has not heard and we are getting so nervous becuase on other websites it looks like LOTS of people are already in EA!

which sites are these? Seems like a couple on reddit have heard, but not many IMO. The facebook group I am in also has nobody hearing yet for EA.

(And to confirm, nothing here yet).

I haven’t seen anyone with a decision here or on reddit (the only two places I look) that wasn’t either NTID or an international student.

also noticed today on reddit today that an RIT professor (checked their profile - a very long, detailed, con if he is lying  ) said their kid hadn’t heard from EA yet either - but that it should be soon. Prof may or may not know what is happening in admissions, but I suspect following more closely than usual:)

Maybe the insta class of 2029 page?

Nope, haven’t heard here yet either.

YES! Class of '29 Instagram Page is filled with kids indicatingh their home state (so not international) who say they are 90% committed but waiting on financial aid. To me this indicates that they have been admitted but not through binding ED
