Hi. My son applied RD too. He felt the exact same way about the “friendly” ED. He applied 10/16 and is a little frustrated that they have asked him many times if he wanted to switch to binding, but no decision. He really liked RIT when he visited, but I guess they are protecting their yield by making the RD applicants wait?

YES feel the same as you all with the constant emails he and I received about moving his RD application to ED1 and then ED2! My son really liked the school, but out of his list of schools, he felt the same about all of them and didn’t feel, at least in the fall, that he would be ready to commit somewhere at that time. He wanted more time to think about what he wanted and to weigh his options once he saw where he would be accepted. And we didn’t feel comfortable with ED being binding even if they claim it’s “friendly”. Good luck I guess we’ll keep waiting!

Correct, I read somewhere that RIT is releasing by college. Wondering when the Art & Design school will be released. RIT & Syracuse are last ones my son is waiting on.

Im positive this wasnt there before. Does everyone have this or is it a sign of acceptance?
My S24 doesn’t have it (or at least he didn’t yesterday). Seems like a positive indication for acceptance! 
I hope so! check again, I dont think I had it yesterday, ive been checking almost every day since the first acceptance rolled in a couple days ago

I just walked into the office to ask him to check it, and he said “oh I just got an email from RIT.” It said he had a status update, and he did get in (industrial engineering major). He also had a scholarship award of $25,000/year.

Yes it is below lots of other stuff on the page (notice of acceptance, review letters, reply to offer, forms, join the accepted student group).

Accepted! Chemical Engineering. No merit indicated, though it did say she will be notified about Tuition Exchange at a later date. TE is the only way this school is financially possible for us, so keeping our fingers crossed on that one.

Hello, My son just checked. No decision (mechanical engineering), but the same “housing contract” under the review session. Weird.

My son just checked and still no decision for computer engineering but the housing portal is there now and it was not this morning.

Still waiting for MechE! Hopefully, next week. With everything slowed down because of the financial aid delays, I believe May is going to be a crazy month of kids putting down multiple deposits and changing schools at the last minute as new offers are made……
