I cherished my single, corner (multiple windows), dorm room as a freshman at an LAC. Maybe applicants should place more emphasis on living options when considering schools.
P.S. The disruptions caused by an inconsiderate roommate can affect one’s social & academic experience/performance due to constant interruptions, lack of sleep, and inability to study due to offensive odors.
