Roommate Thermostat Wars - Need Advice

<p>Where do some of you live? </p>

<p>We use heating oil & that is over $4/gallon now. I have ordered it twice this winter, 150 gallons/time (very warm winter) — and the first order was over $500–the second one was $629! </p>

<p>Most winters, 150 gal goes for a month. So if we had had a normal winter, we would have been spending $500-630 (and probably now more) per month on heat!</p>

<p>And that is heat in our house—where we turn the thermostat down to 50 at night, and do not turn it up past 62 in the day (when we are home). Yes, we use sweaters—a turtleneck then a sweater and sometimes a corduroy shirt over the sweater.</p>

<p>So, I gues these guys are in an apt that includes heat in the rent? Boy, wait till those roommates get out into the real world.</p>

<p>Anongrad, I too have CD & anemia and a low bmi–and a few years ago I was hot all the time indoors. It is called menopause!</p>

<p>Now I am through with that & I get cold more easily. But that is what wool is for!</p>

<p>Double wrong–pay own heat and live in a place where you sometimes run the heat in summer–Seattle eastern suburbs. But rarely need AC. Maybe 3 days a year so we have a portable to cool bedroom.</p>
