Rotator cuff surgery and recovery

Good reasoning there, younghoss. Baseball and rotator cuff injury seem to go together, so hopefully I’m on the right track here. Thanks.

I wanted to return to this thread to thank those who responded with very helpful information and advice. While it’s clear that I have a full thickness tear (with accompanying pain and limited mobility), another of my physicians strongly advises me against the surgery. Due to my overall medical condition and history, she believes that in my particular case there is little hope for any positive outcome…and possibly a very negative outcome. She recommended I continue to do ROM exercises at home, and “baby” the shoulder for a few months to see if there can be a reduction in pain. While I’m not happy about the news that I will probably never have significant improvement, I’m very relieved not to be having the surgery.

To those who are recovering from recent surgeries, I hope your pain decreases quickly and that you all have very positive outcomes.
