<p>Smn, both R.P.I. and GT are extremely high caliber from an academic standpoint and I don’t think you can say one is easier than the other in a blanket statement. GT is much bigger than Rensselaer so it tends to score better in national rankings that weigh overall program size heavily (a.ka. US NEWS). </p>
<p>The reality is that RPI and GT are very close together in terms of standardized test scores, instructional/research facility quality and faculty quality.</p>
<p>I think RPI is better for someone who prefers the intimacy of a smaller school. GT is better for those who also want big time sports programs, better social / cultural scene in Atlanta (Troy is poor town whose time has come and gone), and other things associated with a bigger school.</p>
<p>You have a great choice in front of you and will get an AWESOME engineering education at either one.</p>
