RSI 2019

@sfsmfj123idf

They are both fantastic programs. Don’t choose based on prestige. Choose based on which program will you take the most away from!

@GoBears2023 that is definitely a priority. Both programs seem pretty comparable so are there any notable differences between the two programs?

@sfsmfj123idf

Both will allow you to do great research. SIMR might give you an edge when applying to Stanford though.

@GoBears2023 Does Simons give college applicants an edge to universities other than Stanford?

Also does anyone know what the social climates are for SIMR and Simons?

@sfsmfj123idf

SImons is a great program and will give you an edge at any college. It’s just that SIMR will give you more of an edge at Stanford since you will be spending 6 weeks on campus. From what I heard, SIMR is a little more relaxed than Simons but both programs have great participants.

@GoBears2023 Ok great thanks! Do you know anything about the activities outside of the research (faculty talks, camp events, etc.) for SIMR and Simons?

@sfsmfj123idf

I do not. I’ll ask my friends who went and see what they have to say.

@GoBears2023 Sounds good

I got selected as an alternate for RSI, but I’m still waiting on a response from Simons. How do they usually send acceptance/rejection letters and by when, usually?

@Federer2002

RIP, welcome to the alternate spot my friend. I was on the same spot as you and ended up getting declined in the end. I got my decline at the very beginning of May.

Hello everyone

Is one better than the other? also, if any of you have done the practicum track can you please share your experience / review? Thank you all advance!

Does anyone know when they will post the results?
