Run Up to Decision

What time does it come out?

1 more day left!

10 more hours!!!

Sonfar I’ve heard that I comes out at 3,3:30,5:00,7:00pm (pst sorry east coasters).

Which one is correct?

No official statement but prior years came about in the mid afternoon PT, roughly 3:15 last year for example.

Welcome to the decision day ritual. Basically, many thousands of nervous applicants hover at their computers, hitting refresh constantly, driving the servers to their knees. Sporadically some evil person will post a false report that decisions are up, raising hopes, but quickly the CC crowd finds it is untrue. However, soon comes the first credible report. Now the servers are well and truly swamped and unresponsive, but that doesn’t deter the eager who refresh and refresh, relogin and refresh, until they too see their decision displayed.

Another part of the ritual are the dueling ‘official decisions’ threads, since multiple posters insist on claiming the honor leading to a proliferation of several that accrete decision reports over the course of the afternoon and evening.

Then the board can move on to the threads over A vs B school comparisons, housing questions, SIR process questions, discussions about appeals, questioning of the sanity of the admissions decisions based on amazing credentials from people being rejected and surprising admissions offers to people rejected by mid tier UCs.

^ aptly described…
