<p>Berkeley is urban, but it IS a college town and there are usually tons of students around. I would not advise young women to walk alone at night in any town. Berkeley students have a lot of fairly safe spaces to wander around in. Berkeley feels A LOT safer than USC and there is tons more to do, especially for those without cars. It’s a great place to live for four years.</p>
