Safety LAC's

Agnes Scott–cross reg at Emory and you might get merit–excellent academics

Mills – lowered tuition to $28K for everyone and has cross reg at Berkeley–both great schools. Currently have a friend there and she’s thrived at Mills, and she chose it over some much higher ranked schools. It’s a really pretty school and there’s great transportation around the Bay Area–an area that’s great for internships.

St. Mary’s of Maryland is a gorgeous school, a public LAC–honors college. Located ON the Chesapeake bay the opportunities for environmental work are huge.

U of Maine at orono–is matching flagship tuition. Check their “scholarships” page for out of state tuition rates. You should get a big discount of like $13K per year off the top. Maine is glorious for environmental work and that school has specialties in forestry, aquaculture, etc. Maine is a great place for fisheries work and it’s a beautiful area.

College of the Atlantic – on Mt. Desert Island, a tiny school, with the national park available as a sort of laboratory for your interests, possibly.

Unity College of Maine specializes in environmental work and it’s great for what it does.

Marlboro in VT is offering a full scholarship called Renaissance.

Green Mountain College of VT is also offering a full scholarship and all expenses and its specialty is environmental issues.

Bates would be a great school that profiles, although with a below 20% acceptance rate its a reach for everyone. I would also recommend Smith as another reach and St. Lawrence as a match.

Not a safety, but certainly a match - consider Bard College (not the conservatory.) The college’s music program is wonderful, and the environmental science program is strong, too. Bard is also test optional.
